Abstract

The major goals of root canal treatment are to clean and shape the root canal system and seal it in 3 dimensions to prevent reinfection of the tooth. Root resorption is a common finding and can be related to pulpal infection. Being a progressive condition it calls for immediate endodontic intervention. This paper reports a case of surgical management of root resorption followed by thermoplasticized obturation and retrograde filling with a biomaterial in maxillary right central incisor.
