With the advancements in the field of dentistry, the focus on combating dental caries has widely evolved from surgical intervention to minimal invasive dentistry. Currently, a wide range of non-fluoride based remineralizing agents are being considered for the non-invasive management of early carious lesions, some of which have been commercialized while some others are still under development. This paper attempts to discuss various non-fluoride enamel remineralization systems which either act by boosting enamel remineralization by improving the efficacy of fluorides or by attempting to regenerate diseased enamel through biomimetic approaches.
