To evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practices of Indian Pediatric Dentist towards intake of vitamin D3 and its supplements during early childhood.
An online questionnaire-based survey was used to assess the knowledge, attitude and practices of 780 Indian Pediatric dentists towards importance of Vitamin D intake, its effects on enamel and dentin, and measures to improve the condition of Vitamin D in young pediatric patients. The statistical analysis was performed descriptively (P < 0.005).
Overall response rate was 23.2%. Knowledge regarding the importance of Vitamin D in craniofacial development in early childhood was found adequate in Indian pediatric dentists though attitude and practices actively were found to be lacking.
