Abstract

Residual ridge resorption is a complex multifactorial, biomechanical process and a frequent circumstance following extraction of teeth leading to reduction in the denture bearing area for support and compromised retention and stability. Prosthetic Rehabilitation of these patients is the most challenging situation for a clinician especially in mandibular ridges. Neutral zone technique plays an important role in overcoming these challenges. The aim of this technique is to fabricate a complete denture that is shaped by various muscular activities and is in harmony with the surrounding oral structures. There are various materials and techniques available in the literature for this technique and in this case series the procedure of neutral zone concept using three different materials is incorporated in conventional impression technique of complete denture in order to achieve stability, comfort, and function for the patients with severe mandibular ridge resorption.
