The World Health Organization (WHO) had announced the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak of global pandemic on 11 March, 2020. The vaccination drive against Covid-19 started in India in January, 2021. Being the first line of defense, the Healthcare workers were the primary population to receive Covid-19 vaccination. Having received two doses of vaccination, the objective of the survey is to determine the knowledge, attitude and response of the students and healthcare professionals after a 6-month follow-up of getting vaccinated in a dental college in Punjab, India.
Internet-based, cross sectional online questionnaire survey was used to measure responses of 100 dental health professionals and dental students who got both doses of Covid-19 vaccination 6 months back using online Google forms.
It has been observed that 94.9% of the dental health professionals did not contract Covid-19 disease during the past 6 months. 72.2% of the sample population, being well-aware of the situation was not hesitant in getting Covid-19 vaccination. About 88% of the sample population felt the need for wearing masks post vaccination after 6 months.
Although Covid-19 vaccination is progressively being accepted, there lies a substantial necessity for propagating awareness in regard to its efficacy and safety.
