Abstract

Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) are responsible for many acute and chronic pains arising from masticatory apparatus and associated structures. Simplepain to complex functional limitations created by TMDs require multidisciplinary approach for their management. Effective treatment can be provided only after thorough understanding of nature of disorders and diagnosis. Management of TMDs ranges from self-awareness to complex surgical procedures. Goals of management for prosthodontist are to relieve pain, increasing comfort, occlusal stability and restoration of teeth to achieve stable results.
