Abstract

Dental Age estimation is widely used to assess maturity and predict the age. This information aids in diagnosis and treatment planning in clinical as well as in forensic dentistry. India is a diverse nation and there are only fewer studies available in northern India settings about human age estimation using radiological methods. Moreover, the available studies are not able to explain the appropriate use of Cameriere method for dental age among children. Therefore, current study is proposed with an aim to assess the dental age of Indian children using Cameriere method and to check its efficacy in north Indian children. The study population consisted of 300 OPGs (150 male and 150 females) aged about 5-15 years. These radiographs were evaluated for DAE in the North Indian population using Cameriere method. The results showed a positive correlation between chronological age and estimated dental age.
