Although advancements in the field of orthodontic materials and techniques have been there, the success of the treatment in almost half of the cases has to deal with white spot lesions. These lesions are due to enamel decalcification as a result of various bonded and multi-band appliances. These lesions deteriorate the aesthetics of an individual. Despite the various methods adopted to prevent followed by treatment of these lesions, nothing resolves the problem up toclinicians’ satisfaction. In the following manuscripts, a review of white spot lesions mechanism and preventive measures and treatment are elucidated.
