Presenting a rare case report of ear bleed following tooth extraction.
Patient’s main concern was bleeding from the ear in a short while after tooth extraction.
Patient was diagnosed with fracture of left anterior tympanic plate of External Auditory canal following tooth extraction with help of otoscopic examination and CT-scan.
No treatment was required.
Bleeding stopped spontaneously. Patient was kept under observation. No recurrence was observed.
Complications related to dental extractions are well known and dental surgeons and oral and maxillofacial surgeons are aware about their diagnosis and management. But uncommon complications being rare in their character need to be recognised well by a practitioner. And one such rare but real complication related to dental extractions is ear bleeding post extraction.
