Abstract

Sex determination is the first step of personal identification in forensic medicine. A number of different sequences of DNA have been used to do gender determination from the X and Y chromosomes obtained from DNA extraction, each having its own sets of merits and downfalls. Some are more sensitive; some can help in determination with very little amount of DNA.
