Bahcet's disease is characterized by recurrent Episodes of orogenital aphthae, systemic Vasculitis, and Systemic and Retinal venous thrombosis. According to International study group criteria for Behcet's disease recurrent oral ulcerations is essential plus any two of Genital, Eye, skin lesions. Major causes of Behcet related visual morbidity are retinal vasculitis and recurrent vaso-occlusive episodes. Immunosuppressants have been the traditional goals of treating Behcet. But 20% of all patients with Behcet uveitis are just not responsive to convential immunosuppressive agents. Interferon alpha is effective in around 90% of patients resistant to conventional treatment. Infliximab infusion shows strong efficacy in holding back the disease but development of resistance is a concern. Severe acute exacerbations of disease are controlled with Infliximab followed by Adalimumab to maintain steadier long term concentrations leading to much better control over the disease process than the traditional therapy.
