Fibrosarcoma of mandible - A case report

Fibrosarcoma is defined as a malignant tumor of fibroblast that shows no other evidence of cellular proliferation and is capable of recurrence and metastasis. Fibrosarcoma is rare in head and neck region, only 0.05% of all fibrosarcomas affecting the human body occur in the head and neck region. They generally have poor prognosis and very low overall survival rate. A case of low-grade intraosseous fibrosarcoma of the mandible in a 17-year-old boy is described. This article is presented to document the rarity of fibrosarcomas in the jaws of children and emphasizes on the clinical and radiological appearance of the same.
