A core build-up is a restoration placed in a badly broken down tooth to restore the bulk of the coronal portion of the tooth in such a way as to facilitate the subsequent restoration of the tooth by means of an indirect extracoronal restoration. The study was done to compare the compressive strength of two core building materials namely Group 1 CoremaxII and Group 2 Ketac Silver. For the purpose of study 20 freshly extracted teeth were taken and endodontically treated. Two groups were made Group 1 Coremax II, Group 2 Ketac Silver. Core build was done and tested under universal testing machine under a compressive load. Study proved that group 1 had significantly high strength then group 2
