Local anaesthetic (Lignocaine) is used on regular basis by dental graduates in clinical practice. Many of them are unaware of the safe doses of Local Anaesthetics (LA). The aim of this study to was assess the knowledge about the safe doses, proper technique & untoward complications of Local Anaesthetic solution (Lignocaine) amongst the dental graduates.
A questionnaire was formulated and circulated among 210 dental graduates and 200 filled ones were assessed.
The knowledge regarding safe dose of Lignocaine was present in 74.2% & aspiration before injection was done only by 84.5% dental graduates.
The knowledge amongst all the graduates regarding safe use of LA is poor and attempts should be made to improve this in order to avoid fatalities and untoward incidents.
