Abstract

The study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching program on assessment of fetal well being among antenatal mothers in selected hospital, Bangalore. The tool used was structured interview schedule and was developed to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on assessment of fetal well being among antenatal mothers. The stability of the tool was done by test retest method and internal consistency was measured by using Split half technique by Spearman Brown prophecy formula. A quasi experimental study was conducted using pre test and post test with one group research design. Convenient sampling technique was used to select 50 antenatal mothers those who were attending O.P.D's in Yediyur Maternity Corporation Hospital near Banshankri, Bangalore. The overall pre test and post test mean knowledge was found to be 19.9 percent and 35.4 percent indicating the enhancement of knowledge by 31 percent which was statistically significant (t=3.46 p<0.001). It is concluded that structured teaching program on assessment of fetal well being is effective.
