Job satisfaction is the extent to which one feels good about the job. It is an attitude which Results from a balanced summation of many positive and negative experiences in connection with the job.
To assess job satisfaction among visually impaired and normal vision music teachers in Punab.
Quantitative research approach and comparative design was used for the present study. There were 46 music teachers (23 visually impaired & 23 normal vision) from schools and colleges of Punjab were selected. For visually impaired, purposive sampling and for normal vision teachers, random sampling method was adopted. To assess the job satisfaction of the respondents, job feeling scale developed by Prof. J. Wysocki 7 G. M. Kromm (1986) was used that measures the attitude of employees towards various facets (nature of work, supervision, colleagues, promotion &pay) of job on semantic differential scale. The present study being confined to teachers ’satisfaction, the sixth dimension i.e. students ’attitude was also added to it.
Analysis shows that no value of ‘t ’is significant even at 0.05 level of confidence as it is less than the table value of ‘t’(table value of ‘t ’for df = 44 at 0.05 level is 2.021). This means that there exist no significant differences in various dimensions of feeling of job satisfaction among visually challenged and normal vision music teachers.
Hence, it can be concluded that the level of job satisfaction is same in both types of music teachers. This may be due to all types of music teachers are facing similar problems in their institutions such as: lack of teaching staff, paucity of musical instruments, lack of proper classrooms, libraries, lack of supporting staff, etc.
