Abstract

Pressure ulcer is the most important complication in bed ridden patients in the hospital. Its prevention is the most important aspect of nursing care.

To assess the effectiveness of a booklet on management of pressure ulcers among staff nurses.

A quasi experimental approach was selected to do the study. Sample size 40 was selected by convenient sampling technique. Questionnaire and a booklet was administered to the group and pretest and post test was conducted. Data analysis was done.

Majority of the staff nurses obtained below average pretest knowledge score. After booklet administration majority of staff nurses obtained good knowledge score in post test.

The booklet was effective in raising the knowledge of staff nurses regarding management of pressure ulcers.
