Abstract

The Crop Equivalent Yield (CEY) in 15 demonstration plots of cotton with cluster bean showed higher yield which ranged from 30.2 -32.7 q/ha with the average value of 31.4 q/ha against sole cotton which was 20.2 q/ha. The highest Land Equivalent Ratio (LER) was 1.71 which indicated 71 per cent yield advantage when grown as intercrop with cluster bean. Thus, the results gave strong evidence that cotton based inter cropping with cluster bean gives significant increase in productivity
