Ninety accessions of Byadgi Kaddi chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) cultivars collected from traditional Byadgi chilli growing areas of Karnataka were sown in 2008 with 2 replications at ARS, Devihosur, Haveri. The accessions were highly significant at 1 per cent level for all the characters studied. The highest heritability per cent in broad sense (84.50%) was recorded for fruit yield per plant, followed by dry fruit yield per hector (84.49%). Genetic advance were found to be highest for the same characters (58.30 and 58.29 per cent). These results indicated additive with epistatic effect for the phenotypic expression of the character and thereby suggesting selection on the basis of phenotype for improvement of this characters.
