Abstract

As many as 152 microbial isolates were obtained from the soil associated with Striga. Out of these, 42 were bacteria, 35 fungi, 37 actionmycetes and 39 belonged to fluorescent Pseudomonads. All isolates were screened for their ability to suppress germination of Striga seeds.
