Haematological response influenced by herbal drugs on crossbred calves

The introduction of herbs (Mentha piperita, Trachyspermum ammi, Terminalia chebula, Andrographis paniculata, Phyllanthus emblica, Swertia chirata and Zingiber officinale) in the feed improved the appetite, digestion process, and stimulated the reticulo-endothelial system (RES). The result of the administration of the two different mixtures (self compounded herbal and Herbstone) influenced erythrocyte count than control group. It also increased the TRC count and Haemoglobin concentration in self formulated group (slight modification were brought in the composition of marketed herbal drug (Herbstone) i.e. Baheda, Hara Kasis, Khana Soda, and Comman Salts were replaced by Pudina, Kalmegh, and Dry Zinger) followed by marketed herbal drug. There was no effect on TLC count.
