Abstract

Thirteen rice germplasms were evaluated at Agricultural Research Farm of Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi during Kharif 2010 to compare the effectiveness of pinprick and clipping methods of inoculation of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae, the causal organism of bacterial leaf blight (BLB). The development of blight lesion on rice leaves by pinprick method (5.00 cm to 12.1 cm) was higher than clipping method (1.7 cm to 2.8 cm).
