Application of 100% RDF, Vermi-compost (3 kg/plant) + Castor cake (3 kg/plant) or Vermi compost (2 kg plant−1) + Neem cake (2 kg plant−1) + Castor cake (2 kg plant−1) were found equally effective and produced significantly higher crop yield. The quality parameters (TSS, total sugar and reducing sugar, self life and weight loss during ripening) were significantly improved due to the treatment of different organics. Application of vermicompost and castor cake, each @ 3 kg/plant has been recommended.
