The impact of pre-sowing osmopriming with Proline (0.1%),Glycine betiane (0.3%), PEG-6000 (2%), Potassium nitrate (1%),Calcium chloride (1%), soaking for 9 h on germination and early growth of KRH-2 hybrid and its parental lines was evaluated. All seed quality parameters were affected by induced drought stress condition created in laboratory. Osmopriming significantly improved germination percentage, germination index, seedling vigour index and length of seedling under drought induced stress conditions. Osmopriming could alleviate the effects of drought stress on germination and early growth of seedling. Osmopriming with proline@0.1% was found to be the most suitable seed invigoration treatment under drought prone environments.
