The ethanolic extract of Nardostachys jatamansi leaves showed highest In vitro cytotoxic effect on five human cancer cell lines from four different origins. Significant cytotoxic potential was observed in case of hexane soluble fraction (100 μg/ml) as it inhibited growth of central nervous system(CNS)and colon cancer cells.
