Abstract

Fourteen genotypes of gherkin (Cucumis sativus L.) were screened at the Department of Plant pathology, College of Agriculture, Dharwad, Karnataka, during kharif season of 2010 for downy mildew resistance under artificial epiphytotic conditions. Apparent rate of infection and area under disease progress curve were calculated to all the genotypes. Among the 14 genotypes Sparta was found to be moderately resistance and Shakthi RZ, Vertina, Nun 5508 were found to be moderately susceptible with slow mildewing character with least ‘r’ value.
