The number of effective tillers increased significantly with the application of increasing levels of zinc. Similarly, the application of FYM, poultry manure and sugarcane press mud (SPM) also increased the number of effective tillers. The application of SPM increased grain yield significantly (50.0 qha−1) over control. Applications of 5t SPM and 10 kg Zn ha−1 gave maximum yield of rice.
