Among 1500 dogs of different age, breed and sex overall prevalence of haemoprotozoa during August 2010 to January 2011 was observed in 10.67% cases and that of Babesia sp. in 6.93%. cases. Among the cases positive for Babesia sp. 15.38% were under 1 year age, 20.19% of 1–3 years age and 64.42% of more than 3 years age. It was observed that among the positive cases, 36.54% were males and 63.46% females. The study revealed that most of the positive cases (61.54%) were of hairy breeds. Among the dogs positive for Babesia sp. 25.96% were indoor and 74.04% were outdoor.
