Trash mulching @ 10 t/ha recorded the highest values for number of tillers (89.15 thousand/ha), number of millable canes (70.47 thousand/ha), plant height (176.51 cm), cane girth (2.21 cm), average cane weight (1.29 kg), cane yield (90.96 t/ha), sucrose (17.62%) and CCS (12.15%) and sugar yield (11.06 t/ha), and proved superiority over no mulch. Significant improvement in tiller count, number of millable cane, average of cane weight, and sugar yield were recorded with application of 120 kg P2O5/ha, which was at par with 80 kg P2O5/ha. Plant height, cane girth, brix (%), pol (%), purity (%) and CCS (%) were not influenced due to the application of phosphorus.
