A wide range of variation was observed for different traits of berseem. Estimates of GCV and PCV were highest for seeds yield (g) and green forage yield (g) per plant. High heritability was recorded for green forage yield per plant (g), days to maturity, dry forage yield per plant (g), seed yield per plant (g). High genetic advance was observed for seeds yield per plant (g). Based on correlation and path analysis studies, number of seeds per capsule and number of capsules per plant can be taken into account during berseem breeding programs aimed at higher seed yields.
