Abstract

A study has been conducted to delineate the spatial variability of soil available macronutrient status of Nizamabad district. Soil samples from 233 sites of Nizamabad district, representing different soil types and cropping systems, were collected randomly from 0–15 cm depth. The soil samples were analysed for various properties. Simultaneously the Global Positioning System (GPS) points were also collected. The results indicated that the soils were slightly acidic to alkaline in reaction, low to medium in organic carbon content and were calcareous. The soils were low to medium in N and medium in P2 O5 and K2 O contents.
