Among 44 isolates of Trichoderma, eleven were T. viride, nine T. virense, four each T. harzianum and T. piluliferum, two T. hamatum and 14 were unidentified. Frequency of the isolates was maximum in deep black soils, followed by medium deep black soils, and minimum in red gravely clay soils. Soil pH and salinity in terms of EC had negative impact on distribution of the genera. Whereas soil moisture, organic matter and other soil fertility factor were found to favor the growth, development and distribution of Trichoderma. There was considerable diversity in different soils of Raichur district with respect to Trichoderma population.
