Abstract

Seventeen tobacco cultivars of Gujarat were genotyped using 6 ISSR and 21 SSR primer pairs. The results revealed genetic relationships among cultivars (Bidi, chewing and rustica). The diversity analysis revealed mean Polymorphic Information Content (PIC) values of 0.89 and 0.37, and Marker Index (MI) values of 4.76 and 7.24, respectively. The Dendrogram, genetic similarity matrix and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) generated by binary data of each of the marker systems collectively provided broader genetic base in the cultivars of N. tabacum and N. rustica.
