Eight herbicides were tested for their effect on sclerotial germination of Sclerotium rolfsii and soil population of Sclerotium rolfsii, Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium udum. Among which, oxyflourfen recorded lowest percentage of sclerotial germination (46.66) of S.rolfsii and was found significantly superior over other treatments. Population of S.rolfsii was lower in soil treated with alachlor (18.66 × 104 cfu g−1 of soil). The number of CFU/g of soil in case of R.solani were lowest in case of quizalofop-p-ethyl (29.66× 104 cfu g−1 of soil). Similarly the population of F.udum was lowest in case of alachlor (17.66× 104 cfu g−1) of soil.
