Effect of moisture regimes on biochemical traits, yield and yield components in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) genotypes

The grain yield of chickpea significantly declined due to moisture stress. Significant decreased in chlorophyll and carotenoid contents was also observed under moisture stress. Accumulation of MDA (malondialdehyde), glycine-betaine and proline under moisture stress condition was experienced. Dahod yellow variety of chickpea was identified as drought tolerant variety.
