Abstract

Twelve species of Hymenoptera were selected for evaluation of antimicrobial properties. Venom and venom gland extracts of wasps and bees were found to possess antibacterial activity against E. coli. The venom extracts of A. dorsata and A. cerana, venom gland extracts of A. dorsataand A. florea showed better inhibitory activity against E. coli 10 and 20 h after treatment.
