Groundnut rust, caused by Puccinia arachidis Speg. is a serious problem worldwide. Resistance to rust is due to longer incubation, fewer pustules per leaf area, low sporulation index, lesser leaf area damage and disease score. Except incubation period, number of pustules per leaf area, sporulation index, per cent leaf area damage and ruptured pustules were significantly correlated with each other and with mean rust score. Incubation period was negatively correlated with all other components and with mean rust scores in both cross in both genotypic and phenotypic correlation.
