Abstract

Population dynamics of anar butterfly, Virachola isocrates Fabriciuswas undertaken during the year 2011–12 at Anand Agricultural University, Anand. The incidence of V. isocrates on pomegranate was observed during 3rd week of January to 4th week of May, 1st to 4th week of August and 1st week of November. B right sunshine, evening vapour pressureand maximum temperature had significant positive relationship with the activity of V. isocrates. On the other hand, bright sunshine and maximum temperature had significant positive and evening vapor pressure had significant negative association with fruit damage. Relative humidity showed significant negative correlation with larval population and fruit damage.
