The weed infestation caused 46.5% reduction in grain yield of maize. Maximum weed control efficiency and minimum weed index was obtained with hand weeding at 20 and 40 DAS. Herbicide treatment of Atrazine 0.75 kga.i.ha−1 PE fb 2,4-D 0.5 kga.i. ha−1 PoE was most effective in weed control, and improved crop growth, yield attributes and grain yield (35.74 q ha−1).
