Response of land layout and nitrogen management on yield and quality of rainfed sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata L.)

Abstract

Sowing of sweet corn on ridges and N management by soil test report (150:60:60 NPK kg ha−1) recorded highest yield and quality of the produce. The recommended dose of nitrogen through inorganic fertilizer (120:60:60 NPK kg ha−1) and 50% N through Urea + 50% N through vermicompost (organic source) recorded average yield. Sowing on flat bed and application of nitrogen through vermicompost failed to show significant effect.
