Abstract

Field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 2012 at Zonal Agricultural Research Station (ZARS) Brahmavar, UAS, Bengaluru, to study the effect of organic manures on growth of transplanted rice. The results revealed that application of 50 per cent recommended dose of nitrogen (RDN) through goat manure + 50 per cent N through bio-digested liquid manure (BDLM) showed improvement in growth parameters e.g. plant height (95.47 cm), number of tillers (44.35), leaf area (1481.16 cm2) and total dry matter production (118.92 g), and grain yield (5110 kg ha−1) transplanted rice.
