Abstract

Correlation and path coefficient analysis for seed yield and its components were estimated in ten winged bean genotypes which were irradiated by gamma rays. There was reduction in the values of all characters viz., plant height, number of branches, pod girth, pod length, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, days to maturity and seed yield due to the treatment with gamma rays. It was also responsible for changing direct and indirect effects of yield component on the yield. It also revealed that pods per plant exerted maximum effect on seed yield indicating pods per plant as most important yield contributing trait in winged bean.
