Significantly higher number of effective tiller/m row (59.95), spike length (11.65), grain/spike (44.26), grain yield (3613 kg/ha), straw yield (5489 kg/ha), protein content (12.58%), uptake of N (123.34 kg/ha), P (22.81 kg/ha) and K (109.29 kg/ha), NPK (255.44 kg/ha) and agronomic Nitrogen use efficiency, but lower Apparent Nitrogen Recovery (ARN) and Partial Factor Productivity (PFPN) were recorded due to the application of 150 kg N/ha. The growth and productivity parameters got significantly improved when the nitrogen was applied as 25% basal + 45% at Ist irrigation + 25% at flowering + 5% at milk stage (as a foliar spray) over rest of the nitrogen scheduling
