The Lucerne mosaic virus (LMV) was transmitted more efficiently by Acyrthisiphon pisum than Aphis gossypii, Aphis craccivora or Myzus persicae. The vector efficiency of these aphids varied considerably. Adults of A. pisum showed maximum infection. Pre-acquisition starvation for 1 hour was beneficial. The studies indicated non-persistent relationship of LMV with Acyrthisiphon pisum.
