Diversity of macro fungi from protected areas of south western Maharashtra

Attempts were made to explore fleshy forms of macrofungi and mushrooms belonging to Ascomycotina and Basidiomycotina from protected areas like Radhanagari, Chandoli and Koyna wildlife sanctuaries. In all 74 fleshy and colored fungal species were explored, among which 31 were mushrooms, 11 were coral fungi, 4 species each of bracket, puff ball, earth tongue; three species each of jelly fungi, cup fungi; two species each from earth balls, earth stars, bird nest, stink horns, cantharalleles, one species each from split gill fungi, cage fungi and oyster fungi.
