A laboratory study was carried out to assess the effect of flyash on nitrogen transformation in soil at 0, 10, 20, 30, and 60 days of incubation under flooded condition. Addition of flyash and urea increased the NH4+ -N content progressively with time, after 30 days the NH4+ -N content declined. The NO3− -N content increased progressively with increasing level of flyash only after 20 days of incubation. Similar results were obtained at and 60 days after incubation. The results indicated that both NH4+ -N and NO3− -N content varied significantly due to flyash application at all the period of incubation
