Twenty two accessions of cowpea were screened for resistance against collar rot and web blight caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn at College of Agriculture, Vellayani, Thiruvananthapuram. Among 22 accessions screened, only four (VU 6, VU 10, VU 17 and VU 22) showed collar rot symptoms and none exhibited web blight. The accessions were categorized as moderately resistant, tolerant, moderately tolerant, susceptible, and highly susceptible. Six accessions (VU 2, VU 5, VU 7, VU 13, VU 16 and VU 18) showed resistant reaction; one accession was tolerant; five accessions moderately tolerant; six were susceptible and four accessions highly susceptible against collar rot and web blight.
