Abstract

Application of nitrogen (N) in 6 splits (20% at the time of sowing and remaining in 5 equal splits at 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 days after sowing) recorded significantly higher gross returns, net returns and benefit cost ratio. However, the quality parameters viz., ginning (%), 2.5 SL (mm), uniformity ratio (%), micronaire value and tenacity 3.2 mm (g tex−1) were not affected due to various split N application treatments.
