Abstract

The amount of moisture absorbed from the soil declined with increasing depth. The highest moisture content depletion, consumptive water use and water use efficiency (WUE) was observed at 1.0 irrigation water/cumulative pan evaporation (IW/CPE) ratio. The maximum water use efficiency was recorded with 125% of recommended dose of N, which was 8.6% and 16.1% higher over the 100% and 75% recommended doses of N, respectively. The application of sulfosulfuron slightly increased the moisture depletion, consumptive use of water and water use efficiency
