Paddy-sorghum (grain purpose)-sorghum ratoon (grain purpose) recorded significantly higher paddy equivalent yield, which was at par with treatment paddy-green gram groundnut, paddy green gram-sorghum (grain purpose) + black gram (1:1), paddy -sweet corn -black gram and paddy -fenugreek-green gram + residue incorporation. Highest nutrient productivity was recorded under paddy-green gram groundnut, while land use efficiency was highest in paddy-sorghum (grain purpose) -sorghum ratoon (grain purpose). Paddy-sorghum (grain purpose) -sorghum ratoon (grain purpose) recorded highest system productivity. The highest sequence uptake (total uptake for a year) of N and P was observed with paddy- sorghum (fodder)- groundnut. In case of K uptake, it was recorded highest under Paddy-sorghum (grain purpose)-sorghum ratoon (grain purpose). The minimum total uptake of N, P and K in sequence was recorded with cropping system paddy- wheat- fallow. Comparison with initial soil status, there was build up in available N, P, K and Organic carbon content values in each cropping sequence during all the years
